Context and needs

In many countries, Local Content statutory requirements restrict access to the local market to foreign investors in order to privilege local suppliers. The Local Content legislation intends to promote the use of local labor as well as the procurement and fabrication of local goods and services with the final objective of using the energy sector projects as levers to develop and diversify the local economy. As a consequence:

International suppliers, in order to provide their products and services directly to the local market need to develop ambitious local content plans of their activity (either through local installation of their equipment, maintenance, or local fabrication).
